Mercedes Universal Estate car. These are quite a rare car. Mechanicaly this car is extremely good condition. I bought it about 15yrs ago and it had a diesel engine fitted. After alot of trouble I managed to locate the original engine which I was assured was in good condition however it was quite worn, this engine will go with the car. The engine fitted in the car is the correct type and is in extremely good condition.but is a 230s which has the twin choke carbs giving more power and econnomy, these were fully reconditioed at great expense even having all linkages nickle plated. The correct single choke carbs will also go with the car. It has a 4 speed manual gearbox with column change this has been correctly set up with the linkage overhauled and works perfectly. The interior is very nice having the brown dash top. The seats have a couple of marks where the sun scorched the colour however it has not made the seats brittle. The car was repainted when I bought it and needs another repaint, the bodywork is not bad but requires some attention. There is bubbling on the rear arches and at the bottom right of the tailgate also there is a tiny hole at the very back of the roof on the edge where it folds back under it is about 1/2 inch dia. The car has been standing in a garage for about 6 years but starts instantly. It has the correct 15inch wheels and stands very nicely. When I purchase the car the bumpers had just been rechromed, these are still in very good condition and have been well protected while in storage. also I fitted a immaculate front grill and chrome surround to the car.
I like the car very much but have too many projects and will never get round to it and would like to see it back on the road. The car is still on UK plates but is located in Ireland, a number of carriers move vehicles from Ireland to the UK at very reasonable cost. If you require an inspection of the car this is not a problem, but please do this or have it done before you make any offer or agree to purchase.
